An average menstrual cycle begins on the first day of your period and continues right up to the day before you start the next one. If youre struggling to conceive its best not to just guess when the best ovulation date might be. This is called your fertile window.
This means its about 28 days on average but they can range from 22 days right up to 36 days. The average cycle length is 28 days but can range anywhere from 20 to 45 days. So your most fertile days are Day 2 Day 3 Day 4 Day 5 Day 6 Day 7 and Day 8. So your most fertile days are Day 8 Day 9 Day 10 Day 11 Day 12 Day 13 and Day 14. If a womans cycle is longer or shorter than 28 days the predicted ovulation date is changed accordingly. The amount of time before ovulation occurs is different in every woman and even can be different from month to month in the same woman varying.
The most fertile period for women is the 4-5 days before ovulation begins and the day of ovulation.
You cannot get pregnant having sex the day after ovulation. For example during a 24-day cycle 4 days shorter than the average ovulation takes. The only way to know is to wait until your next period at this point and if you are late take a pregnancy test. So you need to understand what your cycle length is and plan your most fertile day accordingly. If your average menstrual cycle is 35 days ovulation happens around day 21 and your most fertile days are days 1920 and 21. This means that you will most likely ovulate on Day 13.
