Period blood can have a metallic smell like a copper coin. During menstruation the blood which has an elevated pH and uterine lining mix with vaginal microflora subtly altering the smell. Therefore a bad smell after period may be caused by a vaginal infection or disease and most common symptoms of these infections besides the bad odor are abundant discharges in larger amounts than usually itching in the genital area or even pain.
A yellow discharge after period can appear as thick clumpy or watery and light. Smelly yellowish green discharge. A foul odor after period can sometimes be a normal thing. Now its been 6 months i am married and not conceiving please tell me any solution. After a missed period abdominal cramps and clear discharge could be due to an ectopic pregnancy. I do not need to wear pads or tampons but when I wipe I am seeing a light colored pinkish blood and it has a foul odor to it.

Because of this you might also notice a fishy vaginal odor after your period. No worries though – its normal. Can anyone please help.
